Behind the Lens
Real moments. Timeless photographs. Stories worth remembering.
Hi, I'm Miranda!

"Sometimes I do get to places just when God's ready to have somebody click the shutter." -Ansel Adams
I've always been drawn to the little things—the way golden light falls through the trees, the laughter that happens between posed photographs, the quiet in-between moments, and the details that might seem ordinary today but become priceless with time. To me, photography is about more than making a beautiful image. It's about preserving the feeling of being there.
My style is inspired by the warmth and character of vintage photography, with rich natural colors, thoughtful composition, and a timeless, artistic feel. I love photographs that feel lived-in and genuine rather than overly polished or staged. Images that could have been taken yesterday or decades ago, and still hold the same magic years from now.
A Little About Me
Outside of photography, I'm a homeschooling mom, a creative at heart, and someone who loves finding beauty in the world around me. Whether I'm exploring a hiking trail, discovering a beautiful landscape, spending time with my family, or working on a creative project, I'm always noticing the little details that make a moment special.
I have a particular love for nature and the stories it tells. From the smallest details along a woodland path to the dramatic beauty of a landscape, I'm fascinated by the way light, texture, and perspective can transform an ordinary scene into something extraordinary.
My creative interests extend beyond photography, too. I love working with my hands, learning new skills, and making things that have meaning. I think that appreciation for craftsmanship and the details behind a finished piece naturally carries into the way I photograph people and the moments that matter to them.
My Approach to Photography
I believe your photographs should look and feel like you.
Whether I'm documenting a wedding day, photographing a couple in love, capturing the beautiful chaos of family life, or preserving a special celebration, my goal is to create an experience that feels comfortable, personal, and authentic.
You don't have to know how to pose. Your children don't have to sit perfectly still. Every moment doesn't need to be perfectly planned. Some of the most meaningful photographs happen when you forget about the camera and simply enjoy the people you're with.
I'll guide you when you need direction, but I'll also leave room for the spontaneous moments—the laughter, the little glances, the wind in your hair, and all the beautifully imperfect things that make your story yours.
Inspired by the Past, Made for the Future
There's something special about an old photograph. The colors, the softness, the imperfections, and the memories attached to it all seem to tell a story beyond what's visible in the frame.
That feeling is at the heart of Chalmers Photography.
I'm drawn to a nostalgic, vintage-inspired aesthetic that feels warm, artistic, and enduring. I want to create images that won't feel tied to a passing trend, but will grow more meaningful as the years go by.
Because one day, these photographs may be more than pictures on a screen. They'll be the images your children look back on, the memories you revisit on an anniversary, or the little pieces of family history passed down to another generation.
And I think that's a pretty wonderful thing to be part of.
Let's Tell Your Story
Whether you're planning your wedding, celebrating a growing family, marking a milestone, or simply wanting to remember this season of life, I'd love to help you preserve it.
You don't need a special occasion to make a memory worth keeping. Sometimes, the ordinary moments become the extraordinary ones when we look back.
Let's create something you'll treasure for years to come.
